Cindy S. Collins, Ph.D., R.D., LD/N, CSO
Dr. Collins is originally from south Florida. She graduated from the University of Florida in 1982 with a degree in Biology and again in 1987 with her Master of Science in Human Nutrition. Dr. Collins joined the National Institute of Health Clinical Research Center. In 2007 she graduated with her Ph.D. in Experimental Psychology after defending her research dissertation: “Hope, Coping Style, Quality of Life, Knowledge about Cancer and risk for Dietary Deficiency in Patients with Total Gastrectomy for Stomach Cancer.” She is a registered dietitian with the National Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics and licensed dietitian/nutritionist in the state of Florida. She is Board Certified in Oncology Nutrition and currently engages in clinical care for both individuals and groups as well as teaching at the University level. She adheres strongly to the science that illustrates the interplay of psychology and nutrition in the healing process. For over 25 years Dr. Collins has witnessed the power of both through the utilization of conventional and complementary methods in enhancing quantity and quality time for patients.
